Björn Lundell: Creating presence

”In my paintings I work with a set of basic geometric shapes and structures (like squares, stripes, triangles and grids). They serve both to set scales in space, and as useful elements to hide and show the craft of painting itself. Working alternately with completely flat surfaces or with visible brushstrokes I try to erase or create presence of time by letting light reflect in different ways. Sometimes I just let colors disappear in themselves”
