Born in Vienna (Breitensee) in 1933, she painted her first naturalistic pictures as a child. Her later aesthetic sensibility and her love of modern music were shaped by her office apprenticeship at the piano manufacturer Hoffmann & Cerny. Her workplace was below the room used for tuning the pianos. Gerlinde Wurth loved the monotonous striking of the keys and the resulting uniform rhythm…….
